The South Base Stone was the southernmost marker of the Geodetic Survey Baseline. This historical stone was constructed in 1860 and formed the start of the principle line of measure upon which the Geodetic Survey of Victoria was established. This enabled accurate mapping of the whole of Victoria that was essential to the process of European settlement of the State. This stone is protected by Heritage Victoria and can be seen in the land adjacent to the rear of the South Base Stone Consulting Suites.

The South Base Stone Consulting Rooms are a fully equipped procedural facility complete with recovery areas, sterilisation facilities and resuscitation equipment.

The rooms are located directly opposite the Werribee Mercy Hospital at 299 Princes Highway, a few minutes walk from Hoppers Crossing Railway Station, and are just 25 minutes West from Melbourne’s CBD (take the C109 or Princes Highway exit off the Princes Freeway).
